A small and short strategy\/sim type game that should have been a fun and quick game but ended up being overall annoying with how the game progressed.

You start off on a small island after a plane crash and start with a small group of workers to collect resources, to upgrades your structures, complete missions and build new structures that unlock as you level up. This isn't a negative up until you realize there are 4 islands and that every time you move to a new island you don't get to take anything with you and start the whole process over again. So as you progress through the story you do the same steps over again three times from the starting island, it stopped being fun after the second island.

Another problem was resource gathering. Some resources that could be gathered would be collected automatically after the plant\/tree\/stone was harvested, however some of the resources that generate from your buildings had to be collected by clicking on the building. So this just led into an infinite loop of sending workers out to gather the various resources, then clicking your buildings than back to the workers again and repeat x 100. Would have been nice to auto set workers to collect some of the basic resources so you could do some of the minigames or other things, instead of repetitively telling them to collect one thing over and over.

Also most of the islands seem to be gated by a single resource or two, so you have to work around that resource that stops you from progressing as quickly as you could. I get why it's done in these types of games, but its silly that in the last 15 minutes of the game I acquired as much money as the entirety of the rest of my play time.

I think the overall game could have been a bit more enjoyable with some quality of life improvements, however what is here isn't something I can recommend. If you like these types of games I'd recommend something like The Promised Land (from the same developer\/publisher) instead, has more depth to it and its more than just mindlessly clicking.. This is the kind of game where you might as well read a book while you play. Not the fastest moving thing and the 'plot' is a mess. Very repetitive. At this point I'm continuing more out of stubborn will to finish the dang thing than any real desire to play.. Resource timers for no reason, requirements to mouse over items for no reason, ugly 3D graphics, obnoxious constant movement of the camera. Farmville-esque. Ick.. A very nice, very casual, but highly involving resource gathering\/management game.

It's not a time management game, as you can do any given task at any time, in any order, totally at your leisure.

It's hard to pigeon-hole this game to any specific genre. It's not a Virtual Villager clone as there is no set roles for your people, no skills or anything. You just have whomever is available do the job you need done.

It's a pretty long game IMO, as I've put in eight hours already and am only in the second area. It has a main storyline quest, lots of side quests, and quite a few items to buy and upgrade.

It has some mini-puzzle events, but in keeping with its casual theme, no brain cells will be harmed in doing them and they do fit in with the game, such as match-three for tunneling into mines to find ore.

All in all it is exactly as described in the description. It's a fun, addictive casual game that just wants to entertain and involve the player, and it does so very well. Highly, highly recommended.. I love this game... bugs and all! At least the bugs didn't stop me from finishing the game. It is a building \/ strategy game with some match 3 (a LOT if you want to make any money) and a large variety of other puzzles (some unique) thrown into the mix.

Some hints to save yourself some frustration if you decide to try it is:
Very limited resources (water, food, money) are transferred with you so BEFORE going to the next island:
1. stock up on some gold and\/or iron and preferably have it already converted to ingots (one of the first things to transfer to new location)
2. buy as much stuff as you can (inventory is the only thing you can transfer as soon as you have the money to do it)
3. don't try to do any quests (on the left) AFTER receiving the quest to go to the next island... especially the CONTAINER quest (they could get locked and you will be unable to complete them)
4. I don't know if it makes a difference but all the fish at the bottom of the inventory I either used or sold before moving on because it takes a little time to transfer items to the new location
5. stock up on mushrooms and berries BEFORE going to the 4th island because there are NONE there<\/span><\/span>

The bug that I encountered was I received a CONTAINER quest AFTER getting the quest to go to a new island and was never able to complete it. Not sure but I think what I did wrong was to open the CONTAINER request in the current island and click SHOW (container DID NOT SHOW) instead of going to the next island first. So my suggestion is to go to the next island and THEN check out any new requests. I had 3 unfinished quests at the end but was still able to complete the game.

All in all a fun and very addictive game! If you decide to give it a whirl, I hope you have as much fun as I did!. The only bad point of this game is that it is way too short. Too much fun packed in so few hours of gameplay. I really had a ton of fun playing that game, though I was sad after less than 15 hours, I reached the end. :( It's a very casual, relaxing game, to play when you don't want to break your head with complicated stuffs. It's worth way more than what it's priced at, especially when in sale at less than two dollars...So don't hesitate and give it a go. I'm really hoping to be able to play this again, either with added DLC or another version of it.

Only a little glitch with the quest I found is that if you don't do a certain quest (for example the humanitarian box to fill) before you change location, the quest doesn't go away, and there is no way to actually complete it.. I have just completed the main story of the game after 9.8 hours. I played it yesterday and today intensively and had a wonderfully pleasant experience with it. I like the colours, the fact that there is no time pressure, the idea is to just gather resources and use them in production and fulfill various objectives. It is a simple and pleasant economic game which I really enjoyed. I encountered no bugs in the game except for one which a simple ctrl-alt-delete resolved without any save games being lost so the game is 100% playable. If you want to get a relaxing game in which you build and gather resources without any time constraint, I reccomend this game 100%. Thank you, developers :).. A very simple game, but fairly priced for the amount of content. The demo-video on steam shows it locked to 4:3, however the game DOES scale to fill your monitor (looked fine at 1080p widescreen for me.)

My wife absolutely loved the game, and actually beat its campaign today, the same day we bought the game.

Mechanics are very, very, simple. It's a "casual" game. You can play the entire game with only a mouse. Scrolling with a keyboard feels kinda slow, so using just your mouse is very preferrable.

You control a limited number of workers and order them to complete basic tasks, gather food, wood, stone, water, and so on. Your workers cannot die, from starvation, animal attacks, or anything else, so theres really no "mistakes" you can make, other than just being innefficient. It's completely safe to leave the game unattended for hours, however you won't gain anything beneficial from doing so.

There are no microtransations or time sinks. Some actions\/activities take longer to complete, but it's only to scale with the importance of the task you're doing (ie, scouting an important cave for a main-questline might take a few minutes) and to give each of the maps some longevity. There is no "speed up" options or anything like that in the entire game, although on particularily longer tasks you can "accelerate" the process by using extra workers and food.

Gameplay feels a lot like a mobile game with all the microtransactions and time sinks removed.

For the price I paid, around 5-bucks, I feel I received sufficient game depth. If you're a fan of "Casual" titles, where the challenge isn't about avoiding failure, but instead, maximizing efficiency and enjoying the experience along the way, you're more likely to enjoy it.. It's a really casual and fun game to play. You're stranded and need to take action to find missing coworkers and ofcourse the hero of the game. You need to manage your resources and sort out which actions to perform first in order to keep your operation running smoothly. I would've loved the game being double or triple the size it is now, I finished the game in about 13 hours now (with doing lots of side-quests).
